How well does this twin dovetailing of technology and Auditory-Verbal techniques work?

Children wear the hearing technology all of their waking hours and parents take the Auditory-Verbal techniques home and apply them informally all day long. This constant immersion in listening and spoken language allows them to understand what they hear and learn in order to use intelligible speech and language in the normal way.

Most children without other major disabilities who start intervention in the first few years of life have the potential to achieve age appropriate listening, speech and language in their own native language by the time they reach school age (Dornan, Hickson, Murdoch & Houston, in press).
