What is the purpose of Hear and Say WorldWide?
Hear and Say WorldWide is primarily aimed at improving spoken language and communication outcomes for children with hearing loss.
A secondary aim of the project is to support adults with hearing loss by improving detection, diagnosis, and treatment through developing a global network of highly trained professionals. Hear and Say WorldWide will significantly increase the opportunity for individuals with hearing loss to enter mainstream education, employment, and the wider community.
The ultimate purpose of Hear and Say WorldWide is to increase global health, literacy and economic development as well as strengthen international communication and relationships - thus supporting the potential for greater mutual understanding, cooperation and world peace. Hear and Say WorldWide will address inequalities in the current system for prevention, identification and treatment of hearing loss by using technological innovation to work towards global health and well-being. This will result in health and educational benefits for individual children and adults as well as increased economic development for communities, regions and nations.
