The Hear and Say Centre has been helping children in countries outside Australia for many years.  One of our earliest children who received a cochlear implant at 3 years of age was Diyana Shrestha, from Kathmandu, Nepal, who was profoundly deaf following meningitis.
Her father, Raju has written to say that Diyana, (now 15 years old) is fluent in Nepali and is attending school in English.
She has been awarded the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement at the  LincolnInternational School, Kathmandu.
