A key objective for professionals following the Auditory-Verbal approach is the inclusion of children with hearing loss in mainstream education settings, from daycare and kindergarten through to formal schooling.  Increasingly, teachers in mainstream classrooms have one or more students with hearing loss and need therefore to understand how to best meet the needs of these children.  This lecture identifies specific challenges which may be experienced by children with hearing loss, their parents and their teachers.  It presents important strategies and techniques for use in education settings, and discusses methods for implementation of these by teachers.  Every teacher working with a child with hearing loss will benefit from this learning module, and, in turn, so will the children in their care.
